Howdy! We’re so glad you’re here.

We’re Ricky and Jessica—affectionately known by friends as “the 2 H’s”—and we’re grateful you’ve stopped by to learn a little about our journey.

Our story began in the summer of ’86 at Texas A&M University, just before Ricky joined the Corps of Cadets. We both graduated in 1990: Ricky with a degree in Accounting, and Jessica with a degree in Journalism. From the start, we shared a love for hard work, new adventures, and building things—whether that meant careers, businesses, homes, or a family.

Early Careers & Newlywed Life

Ricky launched his career in real estate as an internal auditor for a large, publicly traded title company, traveling extensively and learning the industry from the inside out. Jessica began her career in advertising and hospitality, sharpening her communication and customer-service skills.

We married in 1992 and settled in Houston, then moved to San Antonio in 1993 for a new opportunity with a real estate information company that automated title companies and county governments.

Family, Real Estate & Our First Businesses

Three years later, we returned to Houston to be closer to family and welcomed two wonderful children. Ricky continued in real estate with a publicly traded manufactured housing company, and we became landlords of our San Antonio home—a property we held for 30 years.

In 2001, we launched our first business together: an HOA property management company. Yes, we worked side-by-side for 22 years and our marriage not only survived—it thrived. During that time, we also remodeled our Houston home by adding a second story…while living in it. (We don’t necessarily recommend that part.)

A Move to Aggieland & A Second Business

Aggieland eventually called us home, and we moved our family to College Station in 2007. With two busy kids and a growing business, we somehow decided it was the perfect time to start another venture. In 2009, we launched a trash and recycling service for apartments, businesses, and residences. It grew quickly, and after eight successful years, we sold the company in 2017.

Hands-On Real Estate Experience

Along the way, we purchased a 5-acre undeveloped tract nearby and rolled up our sleeves—clearing land, adding utilities, drilling a well, installing septic, and relocating and renovating a double-wide mobile home. We turned it into a beautiful furnished Airbnb before eventually selling it.

In 2021, we designed and built our current home. Thanks to incredible subcontractors and a lot of determination, we completed it in just six months despite supply-chain challenges. Jessica led the design and decision-making, and we’re proud of the home we created.

Expanding Into Lending & Investment

Also in 2021, Ricky partnered with his longtime friend and college roommate, Rusty, to create a private money lending business—providing capital to fix-and-flippers and purchasing real estate notes.

Our passion for real estate kept growing. Ricky earned his real estate license, and we purchased an investment property in downtown Navasota for future development. Most recently, we developed land in Iola, Texas by clearing, adding utilities, building a driveway, and placing a brand-new manufactured home on the property.

Where We Are Now

We’ve now sold our HOA management company, become empty nesters, and are proud grandparents to four (with one on the way) amazing grandkids. With more time and flexibility, we’re excited to focus on helping others with their real estate goals—whether that’s buying, selling, investing, or even designing and building a home.
